That seems like a crazy coincidence. That value is the port number we use when trying to detect if other instances of RSS Bandit are running. It is chosen at random. It seems some other recently added application also picked that port number and there may have been some sort of conflict.

Maybe someone of you know Growl on Mac OS X which is used by mainly every important application as well as the main RSS-readers as a central notification system. I found some months ago a similar system for Windows called "Snarl" which is available at http://www.fullphat.net. It displays nice alpha blended notifications (starting with upcoming 2.0 also with some different styles) which can be easily integrated into Windows software (there is the a complete C#-API for instance - see http://www.k23productions.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?2790 and http://www.fullphat.net/dev/api.htm). I developed myself some extensions for Firefox, Thunderbird, Sunbird, Songbird and Pidgin (see http://tlhan-ghun.de) but I am missing a RSS-reader with such a support built-in. I had a look at the (only) example for an Add-In in this forum but as I am not used to C# (mainly because I am not used to OOP...) it would be quite hard for me to program something myself (also my time is limited and as you can imagine the five extension need much of my free time...) So I want to ask you if someone maybe could develop this feature into RSS Bandit or an Add-In with Snarl support...? Would really love such a feature :)

Die haufigste ist: error in Line 101, object expected oder so aehnlich und dann schliesst dass programm automatisch. Fuer nen debug hab ich nicht genug erfahrung um da eizugreifen, lass ich lieber die finger von. Andreas

To have it open all the time maximized do this: Once you open it and see it in a normal floating window, maximize it. Now to keep it maximized the next time you start it up, you will need to minimize it to the system tray and then close it. So the next time you double click on it to restore the window it will open maximized. make sure your shortcuts on the desktop and menu is modified with RUN maximized too. I find it a pain in the ---- too to deal with this, so I tried to change the code for this with something else that is known to work, the compiler spits back errors saying it doesn't like what I did. So I will have to work some more on it.

There were no color theme issues with version 1.5.0.10, so I stuck with that version for a long time, preferring a few bugs and glitches to a clash of color themes on my desktop. But a recent Windows Update has broken v1.5.0.10 on my machine, causing it to fail on launch. Support for Vista color themes is on my wish list for future versions of RSS Bandit. Ben

Looking at the version information, IEControl.dll in 1.5.x and 1.6.0.2 is 1.1.113.6327 for both. The file sizes are different (84k in 1.5.x and 112k in 1.6.0.2) which suggests changes have been made. Because of this, I presume the installer is not updating the file to the new version. (Thanks for your continuing work on RSSBandit.)

Die zweite Option hatten wir uns auch schon überlegt. Leider kommt die für uns nicht in Frage, weil wir nie genau wissen, wie viele User sich an einem Rechner anmelden. Da bei uns Software automatisiert auf die Clients ausgerollt wird, würde dies bedeuten, die Software müsste die restliche 'Rechnerlebenszeit' zugewiesen bleiben, damit dann der Userteil auch installiert wird. Dies wollen wir vermeiden - der Verwaltungsaufwand wäre zu groß. Wir haben auch daran gedacht, die Standard-Feed Liste nach der Installation auszutauschen, also bevor ein User das Programm startet. Leider klappt das wohl auch nicht, da die Liste - ja wo eigentlich???? liegt. Die erste Option - Anpassen der msi - wäre unser Favorit. Ich hab auch schon ein wenig im msi-file rumgesucht (Orca), aber leider ohne Erfolg. Was genau bzw. wo genau müsste ich denn Дnderungen durchführen? Wie bereits erwähnt, wir sind keine Entwickler, eine detailierte Anleitung wäre sehr hilfreich. Danke
